Frequently asked questions

When do I have to issue e-invoices?

In Germany, all businesses have had to receive e-invoices since 2025. Businesses with prior-year turnover above €800,000 must issue them from 2027, all others from 2028. Your tax adviser clarifies how this applies to you.

What is ZUGFeRD?

A PDF invoice with embedded data that software can read. You see a normal PDF. XRechnung consists of data only and is hard to read on screen. Both follow the EN 16931 standard.

Is a PDF already an e-invoice?

No, not on its own. An e-invoice is structured, for example as XRechnung or ZUGFeRD. A plain PDF does not count.

Do I need new accounting software?

No. We connect HubSpot or a custom solution and pass the data to your tax adviser. Whether your software can handle e-invoices, we clarify in the initial consultation.

Do you check whether my invoices will be accepted?

We check the format and mandatory details technically. Whether an invoice is accepted for tax purposes is for your tax adviser to decide.
